| How's it goin'. It's about 6 am here and I'm sick of listening to the same bloody song all night so this page is getting some long overdue attention. | ||
| Anyway, I'm in the middle of recording my second album, tentatively titled "Butterface". I just spent four weeks in Tall Tree Studios, Austin, recording drum tracks and scratch guitar & vocal parts. And drinking like they just invented alcohol (with alot of help from Curt) . Joel, the bollocks, plucked a few strings now and then but we didn't get any of it on tape so that looks like I won't have the benefit of his input on this project. Drew did a great job laying down drums for songs he had only recently heard and only threw one tantrum in 4 weeks. I still say it was bass snare snare-bass-bass-snare . . . | ||
| Unlike the sessions for What Happened to the Beautiful Psycho (?) there hasn't been any preproduction for this album. I was hoping to capture the unrehearsed atmosphere rather than have all parts written and arranged before entering the studio. You could also say that I was totally unprepared and tried to wing it. As it happened, it was a good move. I didn't get as much recording done as I'd intended but I wrote some great new songs. It's amazing what being stuck out in the woods for 4 weeks can inspire. | ||
| At the moment, I'm laying down guitar tracks in my home studio in Philadelphia. I expect to be finished by early October and should have some pre-release copies available by Christmas. Right, gotta go. My bed is crying out to me. I'll update this again in a few weeks so be sure to come back now y'hear. Be good | ||
